"Tail-gate ponderings"

The sky is deep
Too deep to swim in
Besides, the clouds would get in my way

And the sea is too much of a ceiling
The only place to go is
Down, down, down

As I dry slowly in the shade
To the beat of beach day music
Under the open window-roof
My hair tangling in the license plate
My thumbs drumming bass on my bare stomach
I ponder the purpose of up and down
And why someone chose the sky as up
And cast the ocean down

And everything is blue but me
The sky is cyan
The ocean is cobalt
My shorts are navy
His car is dark pearl
My car is baby
The only blue I am is stocking
And for once, my blue slice of day -
With a dollop of peace on top -
Isn't a mood
It's a moment

Dedicated whole-heartedly to Brian because it was his car and just because he's there =)
