POST NUMBER 50 and something to celebrate *pop pop fizz fizz*

Hooray for Post #50! My dashboard kindly reminded me that the definition of "blue-stockings" was post #49, so I promised myself that Post #50 would be commorated, if not celebrated. Being that it's 1:30 AM and I'm somewhat giddy after watching 4 episodes of Gilmore Girls season 1 back to back, I am just going to offer the tidbit of a poem I started and ask for a vote for the next entry(s). Okay...poem. It's blank verse and I'm trying to enjamb as many lines as possible - very Browning - and am trying to go for the whole modern allegory by re-vamping the "Vanity Fair" portion of Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress. We'll see. This is just what I churned out this morning before crawling back under the covers.

A pilgrim weary long on tired feet,
I crossed the threshold of a tempting den
Completely lined with treasures of the world,
Designed to draw the pious from the path.
I, knowing every airport for its true
Report among the ones who lived to tell
The dangers of this new Vanity Fair.
On one wall: coffee meant only for kings
Whose wealth could save the hungry in the world
Next to a House of Books of goodly names
Which at their weight in gold can pilgrims buy
A tome of great importance to their hearts
Or booklets, inexpensive, trite, and smut.
