New Year Approaching

Hello, dear readers. I know there are so few of you out there, but I love you dearly. I've made a few changes to the blog, but nothing big; nothing really noticable, I'm sure.

I plan on phasing out my writing on the blog. The more serious I get about publishing, the more important print-only publication becomes. If I post it here, technically, my piece has been published and I cannot submit it to certain competitions, publishing houses, agents, etc. So I have to be careful. I'll still e-mail soft copies to my friends and publish outstanding excerpts (or stuff that I really get published and have the rights to re-publish), and I'm going to start writing more short pieces for my own benefit. I'll put those up as I generate them. Hopefully, I won't be the only one enjoying them.

My personal life has been rather wonderful as of late. I've got an amazing boyfriend (see the sidebar for a link to his blog), am quickly approaching graduation with my BA with Honors, am anticipating graduate school (I'm pursuing my PhD in English Literature), and have gotten a few nibbles on my novel. Nothing truly spectacular, but I've certainly got something that someone thinks is worth reading.

Anyway, readers, I'll be putting some decent scholarly stuff up from time to time, a few short stories that I don't know what to do with, and little ditties that pop into my head. Alright, you've twisted my arm. I'll post the one decent poem I've written in the last month...

Gucci, Pucci, Puddin' and Pie
Kissed Mom's lips and made her cry
When Gucci wanted to play
Mommy washed him anyway.

See, I haven't lost my touch...lol...
